Subject: Re: Similarities and differences between Hitler and Trump
Dear Professor Campbell,
With the developments that have occurred, and with what a second Trump presidency portends for democracy and the rule of law, in Alabama I am seeking avenues for having discussions about the importance of an independent Department of Justice for democracy and the rule of law.
In doing this, I am contacting law schools, history departments and political science departments at Alabama universities to see if they are interested in involvement in the discussions I am seeking to bring about. For details, please see The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: What will happen to rule of law under Trump?.
Various forms of resistance to the second Trump presidency are springing up, and I consider this my form of resistance.
If a resistance is forming in the Bucknell community, please consider what I am trying for in Alabama as a suggestion for the Bucknell community.
May also Professor Hecock, the chair of the Bucknell political science department, consider this.
I will also try to pass this along to Bucknell contacts with whom I am acquainted.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Dear Mr. Shattuck,
Thank you for your email, and your work on this question. I agree strongly the lessons of history here are essential and the situation is beyond concerning. For what it's worth, I've forwarded your email to our faculty member who is teaching about Nazi Germany, among others.
Take good care,
Claire Campbell

Dear Bucknell University History Department Chair Campell:
I spent my freshman year (1965-6) at Bucknell. I transferred to Dartmouth and more than a half century later am now a retired lawyer in Alabama.
With a lot of free time on my hands, and currently spurred by J.D. Vance having said Trump could be America's Hitler, I have been pushing, in limited ways available to me, for warnings to America about parallels between Hitler and Trump. Be An Alabama Rootstriker* with Rob Shattuck: Similarities and differences between Hitler and Trump (al6thcongdist-ihaveuntiljan13.blogspot.com).
Today I particularly take note of the article 25 of the richest donors funneling money to Donald Trump: Elon Musk, Steve Schwarzman, and more, which, for me, calls to mind the history of Nazi Germany and Hitler's maneuvering with German corporate leaders to get them to support him, as led to Hitler ultimately acquiring absolute power in Germany. In the Room Where German Tycoons Agreed to Fund Hitler’s Rise To Power.
I hope professors in the Bucknell history department similarly think warnings should be given to America about Hitler and Trump and will do what they can to purvey the same.
Thank you.
Sincerely,

Dear Eagles Mere Harris Walz campaigners

There are 9 days left.

I'm in Alabama where I have been doing my "campaigning."

I wish I could have done the same "campaigning" in Pennsylvania.

I have reached into Pennsylvania in a limited way.

The purpose of this blog entry is to indicate "campaigning" I have done for consideration by Eagle Mere Harris Walz campaigners for whether it suggests anything that such campaigners think might be done in the 9 days that are left.

If you are interested, please take a look at:
1, The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: Final triumph of money over journalism
2, The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: Discussion re Alabama lawyers against Donald Trump
3, The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: Statement of Alabama lawyers against Donald Trump
4, The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: AMERICA'S CLOSING ARGUMENT AGAINST DONALD J. TRUMP

Let me mention two possibilities.

As you can see from item 2 above, I have emailed lawyers outside of Alabama, including Pennsylvania lawyers. If that seems meritorious to you, what do you think about emailing lawyers in the Snyder County Bar Association? https://www.pabar.org/CountyDir/index.asp?county=20

From item 4 above, what do you think about emailing Bucknell economics professors?

Please let me hear from anyone who is interested in exploring and acting on possibilities here.

Rob

Discussion of "Similarities and differences between Hitler and Trump" needs to be included in EM's summer of the 2024 elections. I am trying to do this in Alabama as well. Be An Alabama Rootstriker* with Rob Shattuck: Similarities and differences between Hitler and Trump (al6thcongdist-ihaveuntiljan13.blogspot.com)
