Kudos to the EM Cleveland contingent
LeBron, GOP, what more can you want?
Congrats to Ann, Seth, Susan, Arnie, and others of the EM Cleveland contingent.
Yeh, I believe Paul Newman was Shaker Heights High School class of 1941.
I learned that many years ago because I was on the Shaker Heights High Gristmill yearbook staff (circa ?) and remember flipping through old (now ancient) editions of the yearbook and discovering Paul.

The Tennis Powers
[Last summer, the Tennis Powers favored us with some pics. We hope to get favored again this summer. To abet that, we reproduce below last summer's August 30, 2013 entry which we did with the pics we received.]
The Tennis Center powers have hit us some fastballs. Hang loose watching the U.S. Open, and use your best fakes to dart your eyeballs here from time to time.
First: Bald Eagle Men "Coach, where are the Bald Eagle Men?" "Don't you know anything. The Bald Eagle Men were no shows." "Okey doke, Coach.. Shall I move on to the Bald Eagle Women?" "Whatever you can come up with, lad." "These look like BEW's to me, Coach."
"OK, good to limit BEW's to two, given no BEM's, you know. Next you say you got two kids who whupped a courtful of other kids. Put that photo up." "Here you go, Coach."
"Jeez, that's just a tennis ball serving machine. I don't think you got your eye out from Hilary, is what I think. OK, keep moving on. Let's get one with the kids lined up. We don't want any parents complaining we didn't show their kid." "Here you go.
"
"Good, great. Let's wrap this up. A few powerhouse kids and then let's call it quits." "Gotcha Coach."
"The ones on the left look pretty powerhouse, but I question your judgment about the ones on the right. We don't have all day, however to fiddle with this. One more thing I think we need to do is show we taught 'em something. Post something for that, and let's call it a day." "Sure thing, Coach."
"Fine. By the way, Hilary was the main driving force behind all this, right? How much did we pay Hilary? Nada, you say, really. Get Hilary back next year."
